Co-founder and managing partner of BC Partners between 1987 and 2005, Michel has participated in a number of largest deals in Europe in the last 25 years. He joined from Thomson SA, where he was Chief Executive of the commercial refrigeration division. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive of Lohr SA, a car transporter manufacturer. He has also 8 years experience investing in unquoted companies at IDI.

He holds an engineering degree from the Swiss Institute of Technology and an MBA from INSEAD.

Managing Director of UNIMA, a Malagasy-based group of 15 companies in Madagascar and Europe specialised in high quality shrimp-fishing and breeding. During ten years he occupied different positions at UNIMA before becoming its Managing Director. Previously he was financial analyst at BFCE – New York.

He studied at Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales.

He has been the CEO of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) between 2001 and 2010. He was previously Director in charge of international development at the French Ministry of Cooperation, Director for Central Europe and then Vice President for Asia at the World Bank (1996-2001).

Jean Michel is graduated from the Ecole Nationale d'Administration and is General Inspector of Finances (French Ministry of Finance).
